Meditation is not the Same For Everyone
When the meditation wasn’t cool like it is now, I wanted to do it but I couldn’t.
I thought meditation was all about thinking of nothing.
But that’s not true of course, and I know that now, years later.
There are several ways to meditate.
Meditation isn’t the same for everyone and therefore there isn’t a blueprint to do it.
But first, why should you start meditating in the first place?
Self Awareness Increases When You Meditate
First, we need to specify which type of meditation we use.
In most cases, we use Mindful Meditation,
It is the kind of meditation where we focus on our breath, it’s a very relaxing kind of meditation and I practice it to stay calm in stressful situations.
The moment you breathe in you start visualizing that breath and you do the same with the breathing out.
Doing this for several minutes a day can increase your awareness over a longer period and not only relax for a short period after you do the exercise.
Meditation trains the parts of the brain that make you more aware.
Once you start focussing on your breath you learn to focus on other things as well.
Become More Conscious
Consciousness is a very important thing when it comes to meditation and self-improvement.
Normally, your body does a lot of things subconsciously like breathing, thinking about stuff, and many more things that you can’t live without.
But as said before, you can make breathing conscious.
By making these automated processes manual, you become a lot more conscious in that sense and it makes you more aware — a recursive topic in mindfulness.
Meditate to Calm Down or Fall Asleep
Many people have many reasons to start meditating and so have I.
In the past, I had trouble sleeping and I couldn’t fall asleep until deep in the night, which is annoying when you have to wake up early.
I needed to find something to fix it.
Getting enough amounts of sleep is important to stay healthy and energetic all day.
So I started meditating and once you start the breathing exercises you calm down and your heartbeat drops slowly — until you fall asleep.
Another major benefit of meditation is using the same dropping of the heartbeat and it’s easy to use when you’re stressed or mad about anything — you should give it a shot.
Wrapping Up
For the next week, I try to meditate every day to make myself calmer and sleep better.
Mental health issues often can be reduced or taken away by simple forms of mindfulness.
So before you’re getting into the medication, try working on yourself.
But remember, everybody and mind have different needs so it might not work for you off the bat.
Give it some time…
